Amarillo Virtual Academy (AVA) is Amarillo ISD's online solution to helping students chart their success path around their busy schedules. AVA has been teaching students online since 2002, having joined Texas Virtual School Network (TxVSN) in 2008 as one of six online schools in the state. As a member of TxVSN, we are able to offer nearly every course a student needs to graduate high school in Texas.
AVA courses are homegrown, developed, and taught by Amarillo ISD teachers. We offer many courses to students locally and in the Region at reduced rates. AVA and TxVSN collaborate to provide our Amarillo ISD and Region 16 students with the perfect combination of locally developed courses and courses offered across the state with TxVSN.
TxVSN adds dozens of other courses developed and taught by other districts or third-party providers in the state, giving our students as rich an experience as possible.
All other courses are offered on TxVSN.
