Welcome Back to Amarillo ISD: School Instruction Begins Tuesday, September 1.
NEW! On July 27, 2020, the AISD Board of Trustees voted to delay the start of instruction until Tuesday, September 1. The delay is not a direct response to the COVID-19 virus, but rather to the new challenges teachers and campus staff will face as a result of COVID-19. The postponed start helps to ensure adequate time for schools to prepare, allowing for a stronger, safer start for our students and staff.
We know you have many questions about what school will look like for your child this school year. As we prepare to reopen our schools, this page is a starting point for important back-to-school information. Our highest priority is providing a safe and productive environment to learn and work, and with guidance from the Texas Education Agency and local health authorities, we’ve developed these plans with students and staff in mind. While we’ve outlined general ways we’ll work to incorporate public health guidelines in schools, each campus will determine how to best implement those steps. Please be aware these details may change and will be updated periodically based on guidance from local, state and federal authorities.
