June 19, 2025 – Humphrey’s Highland Elementary student Mateo Salomon makes history this week when he competes in El Paso in the inaugural Texas Spanish Spelling Bee. Mateo advanced from his school bee to the Region 16 bee to the state competition. The event is a platform for linguistic excellence and an opportunity for spellers to advance to the National Spanish Spelling Bee in Albuquerque.
