Path 2 Teaching

Tapping the skills, experiences, diversity, and resources of those outside of the educational field is essential in preparing each Amarillo Independent School District (AISD) student for success beyond high school. That’s why AISD is also looking for educators with real-world experience.

If you already have a Bachelor’s Degree or are currently working on one, you can quickly become a fully certified teacher in AISD through Path 2 Teaching. The beginning annual minimum salary for an AISD full-time teacher in 2021-2022 is $51,263. AISD also adds approximately $6,000 in paid benefits and has an attractive defined benefit retirement plan through the state of Texas.
