June 23, 2025 – Tascosa High School’s Hudson Turman advanced to the semifinals of the National Speech and Debate tournament in his event, Big Questions Debate, finishing in the top 4 in the nation. Other Amarillo ISD students also competed or were recognized at the event June 17 through 19 in Des Moines. AHS junior Hayden Brillhart advanced to the semifinal round of congressional debate and 2025 AHS Valedictorian Bakhtawar Parvez was recognized for qualifying for the national event all four years of high school.
