June 23, 2025 –   Amarillo ISD has partnered with Amarillo College and Texas Tech University to help paraprofessionals take the next step in their careers and become certified teachers. The two-year program leads to a certification in early childhood - 4th or grades 4 - 8 ELAR. The paraprofessional must have worked in that capacity for a minimum of one year and hold an associate’s degree in education. Those interested can learn more in person by stopping by anytime between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25 at the AISD Rod Schroder Education Support Center, 7200 I-40 West.
