October 3, 2025 – It’s Bandtober, as the month has affectionately come to be known in high school band circles and bands from around the region compete Saturday, October 4 at Dick Bivins Stadium in the annual High Plains Marching Festival. The event is adjudicated and gives bands an opportunity to gain feedback on their performances before upcoming UIL competition.

The Festival is open to the public and begins with 2A high schools at 10:00 a.m.

• AISD bands will perform from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.
  • Palo Duro - 3:30 p.m.
  • Tascosa - 3:45 p.m.
  • Caprock - 4:00 p.m.
  • Amarillo: 4:15 p.m.
     
• Finals will begin at 7:30 p.m.
