April 14, 2026 – Four Amarillo ISD seniors have been named Thoma Scholars. The highly-competitive scholarship funds full tuition, housing, fees, meals, books and more for four years at Oklahoma State University or Texas Tech University. Beyond financial support, the Thoma Scholars Program gives high-achieving students a path to promising futures through mentorship, educational support, and leadership training, according to the Thoma Foundation website. AISD’s 2026 Thoma Scholars include Caylee Morris, Amarillo High, Karen Murguia, Caprock High, Jace Wilburn and Zariyah Johnson, Tascosa High.
