April 16, 2026 – Tascosa girls wrestling coach Donna Welch Daniel will be honored at a reception in Amarillo celebrating her recent induction into the Texas Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame. Coach Welch is credited with starting the very first girls wrestling program in the state of Texas, at Tascosa High School, where she has coached ever since. Coach Welch has racked up 2 state championships, 9 state champions and 52 state qualifiers. The reception is planned for Sunday, April 19 at 2:30 p.m. at Polk Street Methodist Church.
