Safari Nights at AISD Elementary Schools

Kid in a safari hat behind some jungle grassHear that sound? It’s the rustling of leaves and the stirring of voices in the distance…

As we approach the thick canopy concealing the mysteries behind it, we reallize we’re just a few steps away from entering this year’s AISD Safari!

Attend one of the two Safari nights below:

  • Thursday, April 13, 2023, at 5:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, May 18, 2023, at 5:30 p.m.

Our Safari nights at elementary schools give parents and students a chance to meet with “tour guides,” also known as our elementary school teachers, for touring the campus and asking questions to gather information about what it’s like for your student to attend an AISD Pre-K or Kindergarten program.

Visit our Safari web page to learn more about the exclusive two nights you and your student can take a walk on the wild side at Safari!

Preparation for School and Life

Teacher with kindergarten studentsAmarillo Independent School District builds the foundation for learning through high-quality early childhood education. Early education initiatives are designed to meet young children’s intellectual, social, emotional and physical needs leading to success in school and in life.

With each child’s potential in mind, the District’s teachers and educators work with parents and partners to build a strength-based educational foundation, ensure children stay on course, graduate, attain post-secondary education and contribute to the workplace and community.

Early Childhood Education in Amarillo ISD

Our goal is to provide each child with the best possible education in a warm and safe learning environment. When parents, educators and community members work together, children benefit and reach their full potential. We want each child's first experiences in Amarillo ISD to be filled with many exciting opportunities for successful learning.

It’s Never Too Early To Get InSync

InSync exists to help families of young children connect with early learning experiences and helpful information. Early childhood education can happen in one of the Pre-K, Kindergarten, or early Elementary classrooms available through AISD, but it also happens in homes and in families every day, and we are here to help you through all of it!

In Sync is your place to…

  1. Find helpful information about the benefits of early childhood education.
  2. Be empowered to engage in early learning in your own home.
  3. Get connected to the early childhood educational experiences provided by AISD. Pre-K is available for those who are eligible, and Kindergarten is available for all children who are five years old on or before September 1 of the current school year.
