Securing Our Schools

The AISD Police and Safety Team is committed to the safety and security of students, staff and visitors at all of our campuses. That commitment means continually learning, assessing and working with our community to make schools better, safer and stronger. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Learn more about the progress made over the summer of 2022 on new campus safety and security initiatives (PDF opens in new window).

AISD has developed a Multi-Hazard Emergency Operations Plan for each campus in the event of an emergency. Our staff has been trained on how to respond in emergency situations including: Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Shelter, and Evacuation.

Our schools utilize ParentSquare to notify parents about any crisis situation for that specific campus. If there is a need for student/parent reunification during an incident, instructions will be sent by ParentSquare. Parents should make sure their child’s school has a current phone number and email to ensure they receive important notifications.

Parents: Learn more about emergency situations and emergency response at AISD schools.

Students: Learn how to report something you think might be unsafe in or around your school.

Staff: Access the Multi-Hazard Emergency Operations Plan and other safety resources.
