Steve Trafton was elected to the School Board on May 6, 2023. Mr. Trafton was raised in Amarillo and attended Avondale Elementary, Sam Houston Jr. High (now Houston Middle School), and Tascosa High School. He attended Amarillo College before transferring to Texas Tech University to pursue a business degree.

Mr. Trafton is a third-generation printer, following both his grandfather and father in the printing
business. His grandfather started Trafton Printing in 1950 and his father took over in 1967. Following
the death of his father in 1983, Steve and his brother took the helm of the company. Steve retired in
2017.

Today, Mr. Trafton and his wife, Rajan, own and operate The Hideaway Experience, a marriage ministry they started in 2006. Steve attends Trinity Fellowship Church, where he has been an Elder since 2010. He has also served on the board of directors for Marriage Today, Amarillo Country Club, and the American Cancer Society.

Steve and Rajan raised a daughter and a son who still live in Amarillo. They are the proud grandparents of five children, two of whom attend Puckett Elementary School.
