By forming community based partnerships, the District offers half-day pre-kindergarten taught by Amarillo ISD teachers with university degrees at several locations. The District provides services to three and four-year-old children featuring best practices in teaching and learning, quality classroom resources and materials, current technology, and professional development. The community partners provide space and additional support services. These partnerships focus attention on how to bring children to their fullest potential by offering a high-quality program for families.
Dual enrollment occurs when children are enrolled at child care or Head Start, and at an AISD campus.
Region 16 Head Start

The AISD pre-kindergarten classrooms housed at Head Start sites are aligned with AISD's instructional methodology, PK-12.
