David Nance was appointed to an unexpired term on the AISD Board of Trustees in August 2019, and elected to a four-year term in May 2021. A lifelong Amarillo resident, Mr. Nance attended Avondale Elementary School and Houston Jr. High School, and graduated from Tascosa High School. He earned a B.B.A. degree in Economics from West Texas A&M University in 1991.

Mr. Nance has been owner and president of Denman Building Products in Amarillo since 2000. He is active at First Baptist Church, having served as a Deacon, a Sunday School Class Director for the Youth Department, and as a member and sponsor of several committees and mission trips. He has been a member of the Hope Choice Board of Directors since 1995 and was a founding board member of Hand Across the Sea Orphanage in Haiti.

David and his wife have three children who have graduated from Amarillo High School. Their son studies at Baylor University, and their two daughters both have degrees from Baylor.
