Bowie Middle School Art

Bowie Middle School’s art program focuses on four disciplines of art: 1) Art Production, 2) Art History, 3) Art Appreciation, and 4) Art Criticism. The art students will explore a variety of media to create drawings, paintings, sculptures, printmaking, and photography. Students will obtain a basic understanding of the Elements of Art and Principles of Design. Through hands –on activities, art museum tours, class discussions, and research learners will develop the ability to manipulate, understand, and critique a variety of art mediums. Students will have the opportunity to compete in various art competitions throughout the year.


Chandra BuddArt Teacher: Chandra Budd
Chandra began teaching for Amarillo ISD in 1993. Chandra received her Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master’s of Education in Instructional Technology from WTAMU. Chandra teaches primarily 7th and 8th graders. Chandra’s students compete in many art competitions throughout the year. Many of Chandra’s students have won awards at the TPISAS at Amarillo Museum of Art, the WTAMU Dia de los Muertos Celebration, the AQHA Youth Art Show, Suddenlink’s Internet Safety Contest, Jr. VASE, and a few others.
