Bonham Choir Selected for State’s Highest Music Honor

August 1, 2024 – The Bonham Middle School Advanced Men’s Choir, under the direction of Lizabeth Manfredi and Nakita Vickery, has been selected as a Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) 2025 Honor Choir. This is the highest honor a music program can achieve in the state of Texas.

The Bonham choir will join 13 other invited middle school, high school and university choirs in the vocal division when they perform at the TMEA annual conference in San Antonio, February 12-15, 2025.

Most recently, AISD choirs from Western Plateau Elementary and de Zavala Middle School were selected to perform as TMEA honor choirs in 2021 and 2020, respectively. Additionally, each year AISD student musicians are chosen through individual competition to perform in one of the TMEA All-State music groups. For the 2023-2024 school year, ten AISD students were selected to be members of the Texas All-State Bands, Choirs and Orchestras, the state’s highest honor for high school musicians.
