December 5, 2024 – Amarillo ISD’s communications efforts earned a fifth Regional EMMY® award at the Annual Lone Star EMMY® Awards on Saturday, November 23, at the Tobin Center for Performing Arts in San Antonio.
A video from the District’s “More” series was awarded the EMMY® for Outstanding Public Service Announcement. AISD also received Lone Star EMMY® nominations in the Branded Content category for its black and white series, “Stories,” and in the Human Interest category for a video featuring a surprise reveal of teachers learning they are the District’s first Master Teachers under the Texas Teacher Incentive Allotment.
As part of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Lone Star EMMY® is the standard bearer for excellence in the Texas television broadcasting industry.
Previously, the “Stories” series was awarded Lone Star EMMYS® in 2022 and 2023. The original educational children's television program "The Secret Classroom" earned a Lone Star EMMY®, two Telly Awards, a Communicator Award in 2020, and a Lone Star EMMY® in 2021.
