Counseling Director Receives Military Commendation

April 8, 2025 – Amarillo ISD Director of Counseling and College, Career and Military Readiness (CCMR), Tracey Morman, was presented the Public Service Commendation Medal by members of the U.S. Army in recognition of her outstanding contributions, dedication and selfless service to students and the community.

Morman was presented the medal, along with a signed certificate, plaque and a military challenge coin, which is given to recognize significant achievements, service, or as a token of appreciation.

According to Army Sergeant First Class Cotton, the Amarillo Company First Sergeant, Morman has been a steadfast partner in efforts to promote military readiness among students. “Her leadership has had a profound impact on the future of our nation’s readiness,” he said. “The Public Service Commendation Medal is a symbol of her extraordinary contributions to public service and the betterment of our military readiness programs. This award is not just a reflection of her work but also a testament to the positive and lasting impact she has had on the lives of so many.”

Morman has led AISD’s counseling and CCMR programs since 2011. She began her career as a teacher in 1996 and holds a Master of Education Administration, a Master of Arts in Counseling, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology.
