March 26: AISD Announces Fewer Restrictions for Meal Pick Up; Allows Limited Access to Outdoor Facilities
Parents may now pick up school breakfasts and lunches without children being present:
The Texas Department of Agriculture announced Wednesday night a waiver of rules for meal pick-up which will now allow parents to pick up meals for their children without the children being present. Parents, this means that even if your children are not in the car with you, you may pick up a meal for each child, provided you show any piece of communication that proves you’re an AISD family (for example, a school letter, an email, a bumper sticker). If you have more than one child, you will need to present a piece of school communication for each child.
Some AISD outdoor facilities are open to the public, with social distancing in place: To help stop the spread of COVID-19 and to comply with Texas Governor Abbott’s Executive Order closing all schools, we are limiting access to all Amarillo ISD facilities.
Outdoor track and turf fields are currently open to the public, but all social distancing requirements and recommendations must be followed. Group activities of any kind are prohibited.
