AmTech Awarded Stars of Distinction

September 22, 2022 – The Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA) and Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) have announced three stars of distinction for Design, Value and Innovation for the architectural design of AmTech Career Academy.

“We’re proud of this for AmTech, and that it really validates or confirms what we already felt deeply about and that’s how as a District we’re dedicated to the students and our community around us for the mission of graduating every student for life and success beyond high school,” Doug Loomis, Amarillo ISD Superintendent, said. “Creating well-designed, mindful spaces for students to learn and grow is vital in today’s world.”

The TASA | TASB Exhibit of School Architecture in collaboration with the A4LE - Southern Region Foundation will showcase AmTech and 54 other Texas school district and college projects at txEDCON22, The TASA | TASB Convention, in San Antonio September 23-24. The projects will also soon be featured in the online exhibit at https://texasschoolarchitecture.org/.

This exhibit of new and renovated Texas school facilities includes projects from 36 school districts and two colleges that were submitted by 16 architectural firms. Eligible projects are newly constructed or renovated public education facilities completed in the past five years and not previously submitted in this annual exhibit.
