Specialty School Applications Open for Fall 2014

March 5, 2014 – Amarillo ISD offers a variety of specialty schools and programs for students and families to consider when thinking ahead to the next school year. With application deadlines fast approaching, you are encouraged to review these programs and discover how they could suit the academic needs of your child.

Carver Elementary Academy
The magnet school theme “A World of Experiences” provides second through fifth grade students the opportunity to receive specialized instruction in piano, vocal music, physical education, art, environmental science and Spanish. Application forms are available at Carver Academy, 1905 NW 12^th.

Carver Early Childhood Academy
Carver Early Childhood Academy is a satellite campus of Carver Elementary Academy serving students in pre-kindergarten through first grade. Students attend classes in piano, Spanish, art, dance and vocal music on a rotating basis. Application forms are available at Carver ECA, 1800 N. Travis, or online. Application deadline is March 7, 2014 for the 2014-2015 school year.

Houston Middle School
Houston Middle School proudly offers the district’s middle level magnet program. Science, technology, engineering and math are the key components of Houston’s magnet program. Students apply their math and science skills to learn engineering technology, and can continue to the high school level engineering program at AACAL. Application forms are available at Houston Middle School, 815 S. Independence, or online.
