May 16, 2014 – Amarillo ISD is proud to employ more than 4,400 people who serve to educate and enable students to have successful futures. As the largest employer in Amarillo, the district provides employment for many whom it also serves. In gratitude to the service given by the longest-standing employees and those whose careers with the district are coming to an end, a service recognition banquet was recently held in their honor. Board President Jim Austin and other members of the Board of Trustees assisted Superintendent Schroder in honoring 70 retirees, as well as recipients of 20-year, 30-year, 35-year, and 45-year service pins.
“Congratulations to all the employees who are retiring and those who are making service milestones this year,” Superintendent Rod Schroder said. “We are fortunate in AISD to employ an outstanding staff of dedicated individuals who keep our mission at the forefront of their work each and every day. I want to personally thank those who are retiring for their many years of service and wish them well as they move on to the next chapter of their lives.”
