Classes at Caprock High School Canceled Thursday After Main Water Line Break

October 25, 2017—Classes at Caprock High School are canceled for students on Thursday, October 26 because of a water main break.

All water to the school has been shut off after a main water line broke near the vicinity of the high school. The City of Amarillo has advised Amarillo ISD that the water will not be back on in time for school, so the decision was made to not have classes on Thursday. 

There is some additional information for staff and for Caprock students who also attend classes at the Amarillo Area Center for Advanced Learning (AACAL). 

  • AACAL students should be advised that buses will still run to and from Caprock High School to AACAL on Thursday as scheduled. AACAL students should plan to go to AACAL to attend class on Thursday.  
  • Caprock High School staff should report to school as normal on Thursday.
