July 26, 2018 - The Amarillo Independent School District is now accepting applications to fill a Board of Trustees vacancy. Applications are due by August 1, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. The Board expects to fill the vacancy in September.
The open term does not expire until May 2021, therefore the six members of the Board of Trustees will appoint an individual from the pool of applicants. The appointee will fill the position until the next trustee election is held in May 2019. Voters will then cast their election ballots to appoint a trustee to fill the position from May until the term expiration in May 2021.

Applicants will need to download the trustee vacancy application PDF, complete a printed copy of the application, and deliver the application and other required items to Amarillo ISD via digital delivery—scan and email the documents to Terri.Marks@amaisd.org—or, applicants can deliver the hard copies of the documents in person or mail them to: Amarillo ISD, Attn: Terri Marks, 7200 I-40 West, Amarillo, TX 79106.
