New Palo Duro Volleyball Coach Named

March 25, 2019—Amarillo Independent School District is proud to announce the naming of Anslee Jefferies as the head volleyball coach for Palo Duro High School.   Coach Jefferies began her teaching career at Palo Duro in 2013 and has not left since her first day there.  She currently is an E.S.L. teacher at Palo Duro and is dedicated to helping our students be successful during high school and in life once they graduate.  During her career at Palo Duro, Coach Jefferies was an assistant volleyball coach under former head coaches Brandon Litchte and Laura Fortner.  In addition to coaching within A.I.S.D., Coach Jefferies also served as a coach for the Amarillo Elite Volleyball Club for seven years.

“We are exceptionally proud to be able to name Coach Jefferies as the head volleyball coach at Palo Duro High School.  She impressed us with her knowledge of the game as well as her passion for the success of the young ladies in the volleyball program,” said Brad Thiessen, A.I.S.D Director of Athletics.  “Coach Jefferies has a great deal of enthusiasm as well as very high expectations for the program.”

Coach Jefferies received her Bachelor of Science degree from West Texas A&M University in 2013.  She then went on to obtain a master’s degree in educational leadership from W.T.A.M.U. in 2017.
