We know the last months of high school are supposed to be filled with special events and memory-making moments with your friends and family. As you know, right now everything school-related is on hold until May the 4th by order of the Governor. We will await guidance from state, local and school officials about what the month of May holds. We understand your desire for more information when it comes to proms, graduation festivities, and much more. Please be patient as we wait together for answers in the coming weeks. We will communicate with you as soon as we have a better understanding of what that will look like.
A survey was conducted by AISD to ascertain household availability to broadband (internet). During the initial phase of at-home learning, instruction will focus on Math, Science, Social Studies, and Reading Language Arts. Elective course instruction will begin shortly after. High school instruction will be delivered in two ways during this time of at-home learning:
Online is the preferred method for instruction utilizing the board approved 1:1 initiative. Using online will allow students to have direct interaction with the teacher.
Online
High school students were issued a Chromebook. During this time of at-home learning, high school students will receive their classroom lessons and independent practice via online instruction utilizing Google Classroom. If you do not have broadband access, each school has increased the WiFi strength which will allow you to access and submit lessons in the school parking lot using AISD’s network. Students, please contact your teachers via email or Google Classroom to check in as soon as possible. By checking in, you will be prepared to start your at-home instruction on Friday, March 27th.
Turning in Completed Assignments
High school students who do not have broadband access can go to the high school they attend and pick up printed packets. Packets were available for pick-up on Friday, March 27.
*Friday, May 15:
